Preliminary Task

This was our plan for our preliminary task - we later learnt that it should have been in a lot more detail as we found when we came to filming although we knew what we wanted to do roughly it should've been planned out completely and more clear. Our plan included a list of shots, the characters  dialogue and extra things that we wanted to include, as well as a sketch that shows how we want our characters. 

When it came to filming our preliminary task we decided that we had too much dialogue for the scene that we were filming, we also found that the actors were finding it hard to memorize it, so we changed the dialogue a little and made it shorter which ended up working better for the scene. 

Charlie: Look Soph, I'm really sorry about the other night
Soph: It's just too soon Charlie
Charlie: Well I've had a long day at college and I've come over here to apologize and you're not even going to listen?
Soph: Mhm
Charlie: Well I'm just going to leave then.
Soph: Fine leave then
Charlie: Fine, come back to me when you've grown up.
-a few seconds pass-
Soph: Charlie Wait.

We also had a prezi that we had made to show our journey through making our preliminary task. we made sure to update it every time that we did something to do with it and it helped us to keep up to date on what we had to do, also it enabled us to show our teachers where we up to without having to think about it too much
 



This was our final Preliminary task - I think it came out quite well considering we were all just getting used to the cameras and the editing software and also because we were only allowed to film it at school and so we worked with what we had. However we learnt a lot from our preliminary task - from camera work to editing as well as sound and the mise-en-scene, when we had our class watch it we noticed how they noticed little details that we hadn't thought about and therefore we had to remember to look out for them when we started  our main task. The Preliminary task was a really good thing to do as it allowed us to make the mistakes that we needed to make before we made our final task so that we wouldn't make them again. Overall I think we have learnt a lot from our Preliminary task and I feel it shows when watching the two side by side.
